It's January 7th and I'm 6 days late for one of the most important birthday parties of my life! My mom celebrated her 16th year of sobriety on 1/1/08 and I missed it for the first time this year. Ugh.

Words can't say how sorry I am, nor how much I love my mom and celebrate this day for her.

Dec 29, 2007 9:58am: I'm not sure where my nose has been the last few days but it wasn't in the papers. I'm just learning of Benazir Bhutto's assassination and it's absolutely wrenching. It's not only a tragedy for her, her work, her family and the PPP - it's a tragedy for democracy, it's a tragedy for hope.
